Cadillac 1966 (1/24) Free Papermodel by north07について
Cadillac has been the car brand of choice for famous people for more than a century. Recent models, including the ATS, CT6, and Escalade, are meant to stay that way. Some of the famous figures include Al Capone, Liberace, Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Temple, and Fats Domino.
You don't have to be a celebrity to own a classic Caddy, and the proof is in the pudding in the hall of the Classic Auto Mall, and on the red carpet of this 1966 Coupe DeVille (meaning city car). These big old caddy-skates with big Detroit iron sides, luxurious promises, and mid-60s elegance are sure not to be on stage for too long as these have become desirable stars on their own.

Photographers will burn light bulbs and scream for a glimpse of this long, powerful '66, (at least ours was!). And the images she captures will show every aspect of this celebrity clad in Strathmore White, big straight steel that's all keeping their gaps so well. Up ahead we see the specimen in a rust-free chrome bumper and dimples that frame the egg-crate grille. The double-stacked headlights flank the large, long hood with a Caddy cloisonné crown and a V Chevron badge below in great shape leading the way. We made our way back and the decor around the windows was nice. Around the rear window, we saw some rust in the seam between the filler panels, but without removing the trim around it we had no clue to what extent it was. The rear, with glistening vertical taillights inside the bumpers on either side of a large trunk frame that can fetch at least $ 2,600 / month in an NYC apartment rental yard. The standard Cadillac disc-style wheels are at all four corners.
Interior
The awards night was always the talk, who and what was he wearing? Well with the swing of the door, I'm going to tell you… lots of tactile surfaces abound on the door panels in the form of a wide fabric diamond pattern stitch with some metal thread thrown in, all in shades of black. The faux-plated leather panel was damaged by the many chrome trimmings and power switches for the windows and locks, and the only crank for the ventilation windows. Looking at the large benches, split at the front and solid at the back, we see more of the same feel of the wide black diamond pattern fabric surrounded by smooth black leather on the bolsters, and the armrests in the middle. The power switch allows a full range of adjustments to the front seat. It's a pure GM design upfront on the dashboard with a mix of black-coated vinyl broken down at the front by chrome bezels, aluminum strips, and a heater/defroster controller complete with a full cigarette station hanging under the dashboard. The top is a pure black headliner, and the bottom is a nice black stain-free rug. Not to forget, the sentinel sensor will automatically dim the headlights when an oncoming car is approaching.

Simply driven (literally!) To become famous, the massive 429ci that matches the V8 sits comfortably in an old, un-restored engine room. Above it is a Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetor, and it has a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission at the rear.
Undercarriage
A thin layer of surface rust was visible on some of the commonly suspected parts of the frame and peppers. Overall, structurally it sounds good, the floor posts are great, and the suspension is pretty clean. The rocker and hanger body is strong, and coil springs are visible at all four corners and this works in conjunction with the independent front suspension and 4 rear links. Power drum brakes for all angles.
Drive-Ability
All in working order and surprisingly ordered without air conditioning, I floated the red carpet, or in my case especially the blue highway with ease, with a smooth runner, a good handler, and an easy drive.
Oscar-winner for exterior, interior, and drivetrain. The fit and finish are still great, and this car has lived a charming life. With her incredible performance, it would be a standing ovation and the award was certainly not acting! Violin.
