Panzerkampfwagen IV AUSF D(DAK) Papercraft Model
The Panzerkampfwagen IV (PzKpfw IV), known as the Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the 1930s and used during World War II. The initial name of this tank project was Sd. Kfz. 161.
The Panzer IV was originally designed as an Infantry support tank, so it was not planned to be used as a tank against tanks as the role was taken over by the Panzer III. However, since the Panzer III on the Eastern Front could not fight the Soviet T-34 tanks, the Panzer IV was sent to the East to deal with the problem. The Panzer IV also has the Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun variant, the Jagdpanzer IV tank destroyer, the Wirbelwind self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, and the Brummbär self-propelled artillery.
This tank was also the most produced German tank until the end of the war, with approximately 8,553-8,880 units being produced. During the war, about 300 variants of the Stug IV were sold to Finland in early 1939 when the Winter War began.
