All Might in My Hero Academia is a figure who had become the number one hero. A figure who is known as the strongest hero, as well as the most reliable, and indeed heroic.

1. The eighth owner of One For All

In the history of My Hero Academia, so far nine people are known to have officially owned One For All, as well as one person who used it while in the movie.

All Might is the eighth One For All users. He became the successor of Nana Shimura, his mentor.

All Might himself then passed it on to the ninth owner of One For All, Izuku Midoriya.

The funny thing is, one of the kanji for Yagi can be read eight. Meanwhile, Nana's name sounds the same as the number seven in Japanese.

Then there's Izuku, where Ku can be similar to the mention for the number nine. Horikoshi named the One For All after their order.

2. The first One For All user to beat All For One

All For One had become a threat to all One For All users. The supervillain even killed seven previous One For All users, including Nana Shimura.

In the end, All Might was able to defeat All For One. However, All For One causes permanent damage to All Might, which prevents him from using his powers for long. It has a maximum duration of three hours.

How great? At the end of his power, when One For All had even passed on to Deku, All Might be still able to defeat All For One once again.

3. Didn't have Quirk

Just like Izuku Midoriya, All Might was originally a human without a Quirk. But his body is tough.

According to Gran Torino, All Might didn't take long to adapt to One For All. In the end, All Might became one of the strongest One For All users in history even though he had no power.

4. Didn't know that One For All could access the power of the previous owner

Izuku finds out that he can use the power of the previous One For All owner. All he had access to now, apart from basic O.F.A. powers, was Daigoro Banjo's Blackwhip.

All Might is as surprised as Deku is seeing this, indicating that when he held the O.F.A back then, he didn't access the previous owner's powers.

Of course, considering that All Might was ultimately able to defeat All For One, this showed how strong he was.

Just imagine, Nana Shimura who can use Float plus One For All also failed to beat All For One. But All Might, who only has the basic power of One For All, and doesn't realize he can use the powers of the previous O.F.A owner, can take down one of the strongest supervillains in history.

5. Subscribe to be the number one hero

In the world of My Hero Academia, heroes have their ranks.

All Might is a person who, when he was still active, was always ranked first. He only disappeared from the list after he had to retire.

Endeavor, who is usually ranked second, automatically replaces All Might as the number one hero.

6. Inspired by Son Goku

At San Diego Comic-Con, Horikoshi was asked if All Might was based on someone he knew in real life.

Horikoshi then replied that the source of All Might's inspiration was not people from the real world. He instead based All Might on Son Goku's Dragon Ball.
