General Franky (One Piece) Papercraft Model by June
Franky or Cutty Flam is one of the main characters in the Anime One Piece. Franky is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and plays the main shipwright. He is a human who turned into a half-robot or cyborg due to a bad incident that happened to him in the past.
Franky is a genius because, in addition to successfully transforming his body into a half-robot, he also made the Straw Hat Crew's sophisticated Thousand Sunny ship and several robots from the results of his research.
Franky is a mature person but sometimes silly. However, behind it all, he is a very inspirational figure and can motivate everyone because he has the following advantages.
1. Very sensitive and caring for others who are suffering
When it comes to caring and being sensitive to the suffering of others, Franky is the champion. She can burst into tears when she sees or hears the suffering of others, even if the person is someone she has just met. He can also be moved and cry if he sees a great and inspirational figure.
According to One Piece author, Eiichiro Oda, Franky is a person who can feel the suffering and feelings of others far more than anyone. That's why Franky can burst into tears and sometimes in a very strange and comical way.
2. He is a real man
Franky is a real man in the eyes of friends, foes, and One Piece fans. It's undeniable though he can be a little eccentric and seem silly at times. In the Straw Hat Crew, Franky is the one who understands what it means to be a real man.
Franky usually looks normal and seems silly in every scene, but he can be a cool character when he's serious or when he's fighting. The principle is to fight fairly and hate cheating, like a real man. And he also sometimes doesn't hesitate to call his enemies brother after a fight in their honor.
3. A good and responsible older brother
Before joining the Straw Hat Crew, Franky was the leader of the Franky Family and played the role of an older brother. The members call him "Aniki" which means Big Brother. He is responsible for protecting and providing shelter for his members who are considered his brothers. He will not hesitate to beat up people who dare to disturb his younger siblings.
After joining the Straw Hat Pirates this role is still shown, although not as prominently as it used to be. Although Eiichiro Oda said he is like a father figure, he looks more like an older brother in the crew who is mostly younger than him like Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and others. Franky will advise if a Crew makes a mistake.
4. Proud of his works
As already said, Franky is a genius in creating sophisticated weapons or robots. Not only that he is also a skilled carpenter so he can create a bridge in seconds. He has been a talented figure since childhood.
After Franky created his tools he would show them off by saying the word "SUPER" to boast of his work. He is the type of person who takes great pride in the results of his hard work and efforts. This principle he got from Tom, his teacher who said "A man should be proud of the ship he created".
5. He loves and respects his family and friends very much
Franky in his childhood was said to be abandoned by his parents who were unknown pirates. He was later found by a shipwright named Tom and made Franky his apprentice along with Iceberg. Even so, they look more like family than teacher and student. Franky loves and appreciates both Tom, his teacher and his Friend Iceberg.
In the Straw Hat Pirates, Franky is a person who can be an example for others in terms of respecting others. All of the Straw Hats love and respect each other as a family, even though they don't show it openly.
6. Very persistent and never give up
Franky can still live until now can be said because of this nature. He had almost died in the past when his body was destroyed, but thanks to his unyielding spirit to stay alive he survived by turning his shattered body into a robot.
Franky had failed repeatedly while researching to create advanced robot technology "Franky Shogun" and his new body in the Vegapunk doctor's lab. He continued to rise, finally succeeded in creating the technology that made Luffy, Usopp and Chopper amazed that they were crazy to see it.
7. Willing to sacrifice his life for what he thinks is right
Franky will be very angry if he sees people who make other people suffer or people who act arbitrarily and contrary to his principles. His nature is still related to the first point, which is very sympathetic and sensitive to other people's feelings.
Franky will not hesitate to fight for people who are suffering even if it is someone he has just met and he will risk his life for them. This trait he once showed in Dressrosa while defending the Dwarves Army against Doflamingo's oppression. Franky seems to be a little affected by Luffy who has such a trait.
8. Have the free spirit of an adventurer
As a pirate Franky has a free spirit and cannot be restrained by others. All the crew of the Straw Hat Pirates seems to have this trait and it seems they are also influenced by their Captain Luffy who has the soul of a true adventurer.
Franky and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates except for Nami don't seem to think much about treasure, money, or gold. They are more concerned with friendship and adventure in the open seas than possessions because it makes them happier.
Although only a fictional character from Anime, Franky has traits and characteristics that we can emulate in real life. Sometimes Anime characters like Franky can teach us how to live and be good people in our lives in the real world.
