Initially, the car was named the Austin Mini Se7en and Morris Mini-Minor. However, sometime later after changing the name, it was finally decided to name it Mini.

There are several types of Mini produced, such as Mini Van, Mini Pick Up, Mini Moke, and Mini Clubman. However, among those types, the Mini Cooper is better known by many for its compact, efficient, and agile design.

Mini is not only best-selling in the market, but also a subscription champion in racing. Mini was a regular winner at 1964, 1965, and 1967 Monte Carlo Rally, and was always in the top three from 1964 to 1968.

Mini ended its production life in early 2000, after 42 years of production. Until now, the company's shares are controlled by BMW. Mini Cooper was replaced with a New Mini which is the result of a design from the BMW team.

During those 42 years, it is estimated that the number of Mini in the world will reach 5.5 million units. This number makes the Morris Mini the best-selling British car in history.
