Which superhero (superhero) is physically the most powerful? Who will come out victorious in a physical strength contest?

Most fictional heroes possess some amount of superhuman strength, but only a few make it to the top level. Traditionally, Marvel Comics has classified how strong its characters are based on how much weight they can lift.

The Spider-Man character, for example, is generally categorized as capable of lifting around 10 tons, although it is sometimes shown to lift objects whose real-world counterparts weigh much heavier. As reported in Looper on Thursday (14/10), the following is a list of superheroes in films and comics who can lift at least 100 tons.

1. Hulk

Bathed in gamma-bomb radiation, Dr. Bruce Banner finds himself transformed into a monster known as the Hulk. Superhero comic books have one unbreakable rule, where the Hulk is the strongest. Superman may be strong enough to move planets, but even his inhuman powers have limits. Meanwhile, the Hulk's power has no limits.

The angrier the Hulk, the stronger. When Bruce Banner transforms, the Hulk wants to fight, and the more he fights, the angrier and stronger he becomes. This is a recursive loop, which in itself ensures the Hulk tops.

2. Superman

Clark Kent grew up knowing he was different from everyone he's ever met. However, instead of allowing himself to be lonely, he uses his empathy to reach out and try to help others.

He became Superman, the symbol of the world's main hope, to the universe. Superman's powers have increased dramatically over the last 80 years, where he was originally able to jump over tall buildings in one leap, now, he can fly beyond Earth's atmosphere. If he used to be stronger than a locomotive, now, he is strong enough to bind and tow planets at once.

3. Wonder Woman

Princess Diana of Themyscira chose to leave her island paradise to travel to the human world and fought to make it a safer place. Like Superman, most of the early versions of Wonder Woman were much weaker than the modern versions.

However, this character changed over time and became one of the most powerful DC Comics characters. Wonder Woman is the strongest woman in the DC Universe. In one story from 2012, “Wonder Woman” #12 talks about Wonder Woman's indestructible bracelet, which makes her stronger because wearing it brings a more extreme element. It's unclear if this is still canon, but it's a stark contrast to Thor's belt.

His most impressive feat of power came in 2000's "Green Lantern: Circle of Fire" #1. On a space adventure to save Earth's people again, Martian Manhunter is caught in the tug of a black hole. Wonder Woman grabbed J'onzz with her magic lasso and pulled him to safety.

4. Thor

Thor: God of Thunder is a depiction of a powerful superhero. With the mighty hammer, Mjolnir, Thor is almost unrivaled in the Marvel Universe.

Thor's power turned out to be very complicated. He was Asgard's "God of Strength", which made him the strongest god in that world.

Thor also wears a mystical belt called the Megingjord, which doubles his already incredible natural powers. Thor is known for his physical feats, but it's unclear how strong he is with or without the belt. In theory, removing the belt could drop him in the middle of this list. However, the fact that his strength could be reduced by removing the belt was one of the main reasons he landed in fourth place.

5. Icon

After falling into South America in 1837, the alien, later known as Augustus Freeman, decided to live on earth as an African-American man ever since. Augustus meets the young Raquel, who finally manages to make him realize his abilities as a superhero.

Created by Dwayne McDuffie and Mark Bright, Icon is Superman from Milestone Comics. Because of this, he has many of the standard abilities of a Man of Steel. But unlike Superman, he also can create and disrupt energy fields. He may be as strong as Superman, but the interactions between Icon and the DC heroes aren't enough to put him above them with confidence.

Other strong characters on the list include Superman Analogues, Shazam, Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, She-Hulk, The Thing, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Captain Marvel, Colossus.
