SSSS.Dynazenon is a new title from the world of SSS. Gridman is currently out and has been praised for its fantastic early episodes, with many saying it laid the groundwork for something great. However, the fact that in the anime it turns out to be sharing the world with SSSS. Gridman had many other people speculate that something strange might be going on. So here's everything you need to know about the world of Gridman and what it means for Dynazenon.
SSSS.Gridman is a reboot of the classic tokusatsu series Denkou Choujin Gridman (localized as Gridman the Hyper Agent) which only ran for one year in the early 90s. Gridman the Hyper Agent follows interdimensional police officer Gridman as he works with a group of children to stop an evil monster from the computer world.
SSSS.Gridman tells the story of a teenager named Yūta Hibiki, a first-year high school student. Yuta suffers from amnesia and cannot remember anything about himself or his past. One day Rikka Takarada, another first-year student, finds her outside her house, and Yuta feels a strange attraction to an old computer that tells him to remember its purpose. When the kaiju attack the city, Yūta logs into the computer and joins Gridman, allowing the giant robots to fight in the real world. But once the kaiju lost, things got even weirder, because no one else could remember the monster. Meanwhile, whoever was killed by a kaiju seemed to have been erased from history.
Desperate to unravel this mystery, Yūta forms the Gridman Alliance with Rikka and another student named Shō Utsumi. However, they soon discovered that another group of students, called the Neon Genesis Middle School Students, also found out about Gridman. These students are Hyper Agents who are part of Gridman. They can turn into auxiliary weapons that can fuse with Gridman, giving him new powers and abilities that allow him to fight kaiju.
The end of the show is something to behold, and it raises questions about SSSS. Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon. Prepare yourselves for spoilers but, as the show progresses, it is revealed that Yūta's classmate, Akane Shinjō, is the one who created the monsters, while the so-called Alexis Kerib works with her to bring them to life. It turns out that this world is also not the real world, but the Computer World created by Akane to escape her problems. Everyone in it was a comrade of someone in the real world.
In the final episode, Akane and Alexis were defeated, thanks in part to Anti – a monster created by Akane who tried to atone for what she had done. After this, Akane returns to the real world, Gridman returns to the Hyper World and Yūta and his friends live in the Computer World. But post-credits viewers are treated to a live-action segment, which shows Akane waking up in the real world.
The episode also reveals that the 'SSSS' part of the name stands for "Special Signature to Save a Soul," referring to what the Gridman alliance did for Akane by allowing her to face her problems in the real world. The final episode also revealed that the show is part of the same continuity as the original Denkou Choujin Gridman (though this was made a little unclear with Crunchyroll's slightly off subtitles).
SSSS. The first episode of Dynazenon got fans excited about what's to come. And if SSSS.Gridman is any indication, onlookers can quickly discover that not everything is as it seems. Could this be another digital world? If so, are Yuta and company here? And will Akane and the live-action world of post-credit sting reappear? If the new show is as good as SSSS.Gridman, fans will be delighted.
