Mi 35/24V Alien Tiger 2 Papercraft Model

The Mi-35/24V Alien Tiger 2 helicopter is an export version of the Russian Mi-24 helicopter (called Hind in the West) of the Czech Army, registration number 3366 (something like a car's vin code) in camouflage approved according to the army bulletin called the Alien Tiger 2 (or simply an intruder).Since at the moment (2022) it is about reviving, restoring or repainting the machine with the same drawing, I, as the author of the work, allowed myself to do a so-called "repaint" a little different from the original (a slightly different tiger and the front of the machine) and therefore the number two in the index.

A word from the author

It all started with a request from my friend, a gluer of paper models with the call sign "Karlos", if I would be able to design and possibly implement a paint job for the Mi-24 for the army in the Giger style. The goal was to receive the prestigious prize for the best camouflage at the meeting of the Tiger Squadrons within NATO held that year in Zaragoza, Spain. I will not describe the technical things here, they wrote about it in a more professional and readable form. I would just like to add that in parallel with the helicopter I also worked on a scarf for pilots and an applique for Zaragoza 2016. So I would say a full service :)

Things somehow fell into place and on May 9, 2016, the helicopter was finished and ready to fly from the paint shop to the unit. I won't stress you out, he won the prize for the best camouflage in the end.

Version

The original Alien Tiger (2016) was created more or less spontaneously and largely on set, because you can't perfectly treat and describe every crease in an army bulletin. That's why a Predator, for example, could sneak into the drawing on the left side. The key was the tiger on the side and the intruding teeth on the snout.

The second injection, i.e. Alien Tiger2 (2021) is somewhat the work of several coincidences. After a wasted amount of hours, machine 3366 went for overhaul. There were basically 3 options to choose from. Either restore the original gray NATO camouflage, or revive the Alien tiger again, or create a completely new injection (this time, for example, a terminator). A lot of work was done with the third option, and an army bulletin of official spraying was also created, but the whole thing was stopped because another machine was being sprayed in tiger colors at the time (specifically 3369).

All that was left was to return the 3366 to NATO camouflage, or revive the Alien. You already know that the second option worked out and I defcto started again with camouflage ala giger. Of course, the injection is not the same as the original. I didn't even want that. I wanted to step it up, push it a little further and make the machine a little more aggressive. I changed the teeth on the snout (they are the queen's teeth for rajpals) and made the tiger more "naked" and more poisonous.
It could also turn out that the 3366 would look like something from the Terminator, but as you already know, that possibility was not fulfilled.
....anyway, I'm not against the paper version :)
