Meliodas Papercraft Chibi
Meliodas is the main protagonist of the Nanatsu no Taizai series. He is the leader of the group The Seven Deadly Sins, the seven strongest knights symbolized by the beast of great sin.
1. One of the oldest demons
Usually, the demon race itself has a maximum lifespan of up to a thousand years.
However, it was different for Meliodas. As a direct descendant of the Demon Lord and also possessing the curse of immortality, his lifespan alone is over three thousand years. In addition, he is still alive until now after the lifting of the curse.
Having eternal life of his own turned out to be a severe ordeal for him. Just imagine Meliodas having to repeatedly witness Elizabeth's death in front of his own eyes.
2. Get cursed for falling in love with Elizabeth
Before becoming the current Meliodas, he was once known as the most brutal demon in history. He would not hesitate to finish off the goddesses or demons if anyone got in his way.
Therefore, Meliodas held the position as the main leader of the Ten Commandments as the owner of the original symbol of Love. He and his younger brother, Zeldris, were often together in every battle.
But since his meeting with Elizabeth, Meliodas' stance began to change. He began to turn against his own family and people and sealed them all away. Therefore, Meliodas and Elizabeth were cursed by the Demon King and the Great Goddess due to their actions.
Meliodas is sentenced to live forever and will not die even if his heart is broken. Meanwhile, Elizabeth has to undergo an endless cycle of reincarnation and always dies in front of her lover's eyes.
3. Established a Boar Hat bar after being expelled from the kingdom
After being expelled due to the slander that emerged from the holy knights, Meliodas decided to set up his bar called Boar Hat.
Boar Hat is famous for its delicious alcoholic drinks. Meliodas himself used to collect various well-known brands during his wanderings.
Unfortunately, the food itself is notoriously unpleasant to the human tongue. That's because Meliodas is very indifferent to his customer satisfaction.
Oh, yes Meliodas himself had to sell his holy weapon, Lostvayne for his capital, you know. Fortunately, the sword fell into Merlin's hands.
4. His powers were sealed by Merlin and the Druids
Even though he looks cheerful and friendly, Meliodas has trouble controlling his own emotions when it comes to Elizabeth.
Therefore, Merlin and the Druids took the initiative to take most of Meliodas' power and seal it. This was done as an anticipatory measure so that the kingdom would not disappear if Meliodas got out of control.
To get his strength back, Meliodas must go through a test where he must not be carried away by emotions when he sees Elizabeth's death.
After successfully graduating, Meliodas' strength returned to how it used to be and even grew stronger over time.
5. Was defeated by Escanor's The One mode
It happened right after Meliodas managed to escape from Melascula's cocoon of darkness.
Realizing that the current captain was not the one he knew, Escanor hastily summoned his ax and prepared to fight. And sure enough, Meliodas completely lost his bright side and became much more aggressive at that point.
The two of them were involved in a fierce battle until Escanor managed to become The One at noon. With all his strength, he managed to defeat Meliodas.
As a result, in his demon mode, Meliodas was defeated even though they both fell in the end.
6. His personality changed to rough when in demon mode
Meliodas' personality tends to change based on how much demonic power surrounds him.
At the beginning of the story, Meliodas is shown to be a cheerful person and tends not to like violence. He only beats up enemies who dare to mess with him.
After his original powers returned, Meliodas' personality began to turn violent and unforgiving. That itself happened because his emotions were slowly being taken by the Demon Lord in exchange for his son's immortal life.
After the defeat of the Demon King, Meliodas' personality returns to how it was at the beginning of the story. He is even happier after having his own little family.
7. Become the king of Liones and have a son named Tristan
After the end of the long battle with the Demon King and Chaos, Meliodas and his friends had to part ways to live their own lives.
Meliodas himself then decided to marry Elizabeth and become king of Liones to replace Bartra who had entered old age.
From the marriage of Meliodas and Elizabeth, Tristan was born, a hybrid demon and goddess. His birth itself was a surprise, especially for Zeldris and Gelda who did not expect that demons and goddesses could have children.
