Previously, this hypercar was introduced as a concept car at the IAA Mobility Show in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2017.
The well-known luxury vehicle manufacturer had postponed the production of its new hypercar due to several obstacles. One of them is the challenge that arises in the process of reducing the hybrid powertrain used by Formula 1 racing cars.
Referring from the Hindustan Times page, this car does use the power of a plug-in hybrid drive system originating from Formula 1. The speed is also reported to be lowered, from 1,500 rpm to 1,200 rpm.
The Mercedes-AMG Project One is equipped with one turbocharged hybrid combustion V6 engine, with a total of four electric motors. Both motors will drive the front wheels, where one of them has been integrated into the turbocharger.
Equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo V6 engine, this new hypercar will produce more than 1,000 horsepower. As a result, the car can accelerate from 0-200 km per hour in less than six seconds.
Speaking of power, the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar is capable of reaching 350 km per hour. It is also reported that the company will only produce 275 units, and all of them have been sold out.
