Short history about Gundam Altron: After OZ damaged and captured the XXXG-01S Shenlong Gundam in AC 195, it was taken to OZ's lunar base and mobile suit factory for storage. The five scientists who created the Gundams that plagued OZ were also captured and forced to develop a new mobile suit in order to secure OZ's rule over Earth and the space colonies. Despite their apparent "cooperation," the scientists began secretly rebuilding and upgrading both the Shenlong and the XXXG-01D Gundam Deathscythe, preparing for the day when captured Gundam pilots Chang Wufei and Duo Maxwell would be able to return to the battlefield.

When the Romefeller Foundation, the political force behind OZ, split over a number of issues, the "Treize Faction" of OZ attacked the lunar base, which was still under the control of Romefeller loyalists at the time. Lady Une released both Duo and Wufei during the chaos, and they fled in their partially upgraded XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell and XXXG-01S2 Altron Gundam. During the Eve Wars, the Altron Gundam would pose a threat to the OZ and, later, the White Fang.
