Crewmates have missions to complete various tasks while figuring out which of them is an Impostor. Although it sounds simple to do, in practice it is not that easy.

Crewmates must be responsive, untrustworthy, communicative, and knowledgeable about the game. Well, if you are an Among Us player and often become a Crewmate, here are some tips and tricks to win playing as a Crewmate in Among Us.

1. Move in groups

The best way to block the Impostor's action is to stay together or move in a group. If you're accompanied by another crew, the Impostor likely won't take the risk to kill you – unless of course, you're accompanied by a crew that turns out to be Impostor too.

The number of group members depends on the number of Impostors themselves. If there are two Impostors, you need to team up with a group of five. Also, be prepared not to panic when the Impostor performs sabotage aimed at breaking up the Crewmate group.

2. Pay attention to the players who are doing the task

Whenever you see another player on duty, don't immediately assume that they are friends or fellow crewmates like you. If they are working on a task, the Task Bar indicator in the left corner should increase.

In addition, players who do tasks certainly require a lot of time, especially for tasks that do take a long time to complete. So for example, if there is a player who can turn on the reactor in a few seconds, then it is very likely that that player is an Impostor.

3. Identification through common tasks

If you get a common task like “Insert Keys” in Polus or “Swipe Card” in Polus and Skeld, then other players get that task too. On the other hand, if you don't get the task, so will other players.

In other words, it is very important to know the location of common tasks and utilize that as a way to identify Impostors. For example, if you see another player completing a common task that you didn't even get to do yourself, then 99 percent of those players are Impostors.

4. Always try to fix the sabotage

Don't wait for others to fix the sabotage. If all Crewmates have the same mindset, then the door to defeat will be closer than the door to victory. Of course, the risk of no Crewmate fixing the sabotage becomes greater when the number of players decreases.

However, if you want to skip the job, do it early in the game. And keep in mind that sabotage can be used by Impostors as a way to trap Crewmates, so always make sure that you move in groups.

5. When in doubt, skip voting

If there is serious evidence against any of the players, go ahead, vote, and get that player off the boat. But if it's based on speculation, take no chances and skip voting.

This usually happens early in the game where the evidence is often not strong and there is still plenty of time left to guess who the right Impostor is. In addition to reducing the possibility of throwing out the wrong player, this method can also be used to study the unexpected behavior of the Impostor, which generally raises suspicion against other players from the start.

6. Don't forget ventilation

One of the mistakes that Crewmates often make is forgetting the fact that the Impostor has one advantage – hiding or accessing other rooms via ventilation. Therefore, be careful with sentences like, “Red didn't do it, because I saw her in the room”.

If you want to win the game, you have to learn or at least memorize the connections of each vent. With that, you will also have one advantage, namely destroying the many alibis thrown by the Impostors.

7. Check Door Log

Door Log is an exclusive feature in Mira HQ where it keeps a record of every player that has passed the censorship. There are three sensors placed on the Mira HQ. Although it seems less important, you can use these notes to find out who was in a certain location when the murder occurred and who was lying.

It's also very useful for catching Impostors taking shortcuts through vents as they can trigger two sensors at opposite ends of the map. However, it should be noted that Door Log only displays the most recent 20 events.
