Nezuko Kamado is one of the main characters in the Kimetsu no Yaiba series.

This younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado is a demon that Tanjiro carries with him every day with a large wooden bag, which is almost always on Tanjiro's back when he is out for a walk.

Instead of being a human threat, Nezuko becomes a threat to other demons.

1. Basic information

Nezuko Kamado is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado, and the son of Tanjuro and Kie Kamado.

In chapter 1 of the manga and episode 1 of the anime, Tanjiro finds his family slaughtered and Nezuko becoming a demon.

Even though she had attacked Tanjiro, in the end, Nezuko could not attack humans and only targeted demons.

As a demon, Nezuko Kamado has the toughness and physical strength above ordinary humans. She also can regenerate, which makes her even more difficult to kill.

2. Can refrain from attacking Sanemi Shinazugawa

After the Mount Natagumo plot, Nezuko had become the topic of conversation between the Hashiras and Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

Sanemi Shinazugawa, especially, was the most conscientious of letting Nezuko live.

Having previously stabbed Nezuko several times, Sanemi gushed out her blood to try to lure Nezuko.

But Nezuko could ignore Sanemi's blood temptation.

This is significant not only because of Sanemi's bad nature. Sanemi's blood was a rare type, which was very tempting to demons.

Nezuko can resist Sanemi's blood proving that she can indeed refrain from attacking humans, even though the human has Marechi blood like Sanemi.

3. Nezuko's Blood Demon Art is dangerous for demons

Although a demon, Nezuko is a mainstay to fight other demons.

This was mainly due to his Blood Demon Art. Her techniques were effective against demons.

Nezuko's burning blood could heat Nichirin's sword so that the swords of demon slayers like Tanjiro could turn fiery red. The most optimal color when fighting demons.

Nezuko's Blood Demon Art could even be used to burn the negative effects of demonic power on humans. She can heal Uzui, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu after the fight against Gyutaro and Daki because of this ability.

5. Nezuko was once shown watching Tanjiro practice Hinokami Kagura

In flashback, before Tanjiro deployed Hinokami Kagura in episode 19, you can see little Nezuko watching her sister practice Hinokami Kagura while playing a traditional musical instrument.

Does this mean that if given the chance, Nezuko can also take out Hinokami Kagura?

Maybe not in demon form. In his demon form, Nezuko's memory as a human is not working properly. She could only remember the full incident of how she became a demon after became a human again.

6. Nezuko is a demon who doesn't get burned by the sun

At the end of the Swordsmith Village plot battle, it was revealed that Nezuko didn't get burned despite being exposed to the sun.

Considering then that there was a Hinokami Kagura user who was also immune to the sun when she became a demon, it seems that the descendants of Fire Breathing users are indeed special if they can be made into demons.

7. In the manga, Nezuko has returned to being human

Nezuko does not participate at all in the Dimensional Infinity Fortress plot and the long battle against Muzan.

She was given a drug by Tamayo, to turn a demon back into a human.

Nezuko was summoned by her father's spirit to go to the battle site, but the battle location was far from where she was being treated.

Along the way, Nezuko slowly becomes fully human. She could even remember the moment Muzan massacred his family.

When Nezuko finally arrived at the battle site, the sun had already risen and she had fully returned to being human.
