Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku, is the main character of My Hero Academia.

He is a child who was previously without a Quirk, comes from an ordinary family where his father and mother are not heroes, but is now the main character of MHA with one of the strongest Quirks in the world.

What's interesting about Deku? Check out the following facts about Deku My Hero Academia!

Contains spoilers for those who haven't read the manga version.

1. The ninth heir of One For All

One For All is an inheritable Quirk. The holder starts from All For One's younger brother and then continues to Toshinori Yagi the All Might.

Impressed by Deku's character, who is willing to sacrifice himself to help people even though Deku doesn't have a Quirk, All Might bequeathed One For All to Deku. All Might has been offered another candidate, namely Mirio Togata.

Deku also became the ninth heir of One For All, while All Might was the eighth heir.

2. His code name was a mockery

The name Deku was used by Katsuki Bakugo as a mockery for Deku.

Even so, Izuku chose that name as his hero's code name.

His inspiration was Ochako's interpretation of the name, where Ochako felt the name Deku could mean "I can do it."

3. He can use the power of another One For All heir, something All Might can't do

As the heir to One For All, Deku has a heap of power from his previous users.

Initially, the power of One For All was thought to be limited to increasing physical strength, speed, and physical toughness.

However, it turns out that if someone has a Quirk other than One For All when they receive that power, then their other Quirk can also be passed on to the next OFA user.

In the manga, Deku can already use Lariat's Blackwhip technique.

The next power that Deku is supposed to be able to use is Float, which belongs to Nana Shimura.

This uniqueness is not shared by All Might, who is equally surprised by Deku's abilities.

4. In popularity polls, Izuku often loses to Bakugo

In the shonen manga popularity poll, the main character generally wins. This happened in One Piece where Luffy was always number one even though many cool characters were introduced.

Deku has only been the most popular character once, namely in the first poll.

After that, Deku continued to lose popularity from Katsuki Bakugo.

Uniquely, this is not only in Japan. Even in America, Deku was only the most popular in the first poll, then he lost in a row to Bakugo.

Unique? In the fifth American version of the popularity poll, Deku even lost to Kirishima! It seems that Kirishima's fiery manly spirit is even more favored by American readers.

5. His arm is in bad condition

Because Deku often pushes himself, the condition of his arm is now bad.

Every time Deku's arm is damaged at the beginning of the story, his arm can always be restored. But the effect can be seen from the scars that are inscribed and can be felt by Deku himself.

If Deku uses his arm to fight too much, his arm can even become permanently paralyzed.

Deku's arm could have recovered if he didn't use it too much for a long time. But considering Deku's nature, I don't know whether he will act recklessly again or not in a state of urgency.

This is one of the reasons Deku developed the Shoot Style, which uses legs instead of fists to mimic All Might's abilities.

6. Currently, the One For All safe limit for Deku is 20%

If Deku can always be 100% One For All, he is the strongest student in My Hero Academia, with strength that surpasses pro heroes.

This is seen when he beats Chisaki at the top of the Shie Hassaikai plot. Even though Chisaki became extraordinarily strong, in the end, Deku was too fast, too strong, and too tough for Chisaki to defeat.

The problem is that. Deku's body still has to adapt to One For All.

If not assisted by other parties, such as Eri, the best safe limit that Deku can use at the time of writing this article (12/5/2020) is 20%.

He could access 100% at any time, but his organs would be damaged from being unable to withstand the power. Just like he had in the U.A.

7. Good at analysis

Before he had the power, Deku also often recorded his analysis of heroes and villains.

Deku later proved expert analysis. He can make sudden strategies, like when he fought Bakugou.

Deku can even imitate other techniques he observes, such as Gran Torino's movement patterns and Bakugo's movements.
