1. Many times fall in second place!
If you pay attention, Shoto often falls into second place in many ways.
For example in the U.A. entrance exam. for recommended students, Shoto lost to Inasa Yoarashi who sat in the first place. Shoto only managed to get first place because after that Inasa withdrew from U.A.
In addition, when Aizawa first tested the Quirks of Class 1-A students, Shoto was again ranked second under Momo Yaoyorozu.
Then as shown in the anime, Shoto Todoroki lost to Katsuki Bakugou at the U.A. Sports Festival. and took second place, aka runner-up.
The funny thing is that even in the real world, Shoto got second place twice, namely being the second most popular character in the first and fourth polls. Beyond that Shoto only got third place.
2. Has a Quirk combination of both parents!
If you watched the anime too, you would know that Quirk Shoto Todoroki, named Half-Cold Half-Hot, is descended from his parents.
Endeavor, Shoto's father has a quirk with the power of fire while his mother, Rei, has a quirk that can produce ice.
So, Shoto's power that can produce fire and ice is a direct descendant of his parents!
3. Shoto's name is related to fire and ice!
Like other characters created by Kohei Horikoshi, Shoto Todoroki's name also has a meaning that fits his character.
The name Shoto comes from the kanji (sh) which means burning and the kanji (to) which means freezing.
So the name Shoto describes his power of being able to burn and freeze anything with his Half-Cold Half-Hot quirk!
4. Get the most nominations in class 1-A!
After the U.A. Sports Festival, Pro Hero can award nominations to U.A. students. to show their interest in the student concerned.
Interestingly, despite being ranked second at the U.A. Sports Festival, Shoto Todoroki got the most nominations in class 1-A, with 4,123 nominations.
In other words, 4,123 professional Heroes are interested in teaming up with Shoto Todoroki after seeing his performance at the U.A. Sports Festival!
5. The 1-A graders with the most changed costumes!
If you remember, Shoto's costume was originally not blue as it is now. Shoto used to wear a white costume with half of his body covered by something that looked like ice.
He used this Shoto costume because at that time Shoto still refused to use a fire quirk similar to his father.
But since Shoto was awakened by Deku, Shoto finally changed his costume drastically to become what it is today.
6. Shoto's costume designer is the same as Izuku Midoriya!
In a world full of heroes like in My Hero Academia, it's only natural that there is work to design Hero costumes. It's also not surprising that several heroes have costumes designed by the same person.
Similar to Shoto and Deku, it turns out that Deku's latest costumes (which are not made by his mother) and Shoto's costumes are from the same designer!
7. Shoto's wounds are from his mother!
If you follow the anime and manga, of course, you also know that the wound in Shoto's left eye is the result of his mother's actions.
When he was a child, Shoto's mother, Rei Todoroki, splashed Shoto's left eye with hot water because Shoto's left side reminded him of Endeavor. However, Shoto's mother soon came to her senses and cooled him down with ice.
Even though his mother gave the wound, Shoto didn't hold a grudge against his mother at all because Shoto realized that his mother was because of Endeavor's treatment of his family!
