Naruto Uzumaki is the main character of the Naruto series.

What's so interesting about him? Let's get to know Naruto more in the following 10 facts about Naruto Uzumaki!

1. Naruto's initial concept was a fox

Loh it's related to the fox? But something is different.

In the early Naruto manga, the Naruto Uzumaki character is not a human but a demon fox who lives in the body of a small child.

Meanwhile the nine tailed fox that destroyed the village was his father.

So the initial concept was not a nine-tailed fox that entered Naruto's body but Naruto as a demon fox that entered a boy's body (this boy was also ostracized and hated).

2. Inspired by Goku

Like most shonen manga of the 90s, the character Naruto Uzumaki is also inspired by Son Goku in the DragonBall manga.

Kishimoto said that Naruto's character is the depiction of the main hero character in the Shonen manga which was created by Goku, namely the type of person who is straight to the point, naughty and silly.

Since Son Goku appeared, some manga or anime characters even today still have similar patterns and concepts.

3. But the face and the story are original

According to Kishimoto, Naruto's face and story were not inspired by anything or purely his own creation.

Especially the past. Kishimoto created Naruto as a character who was always hurt as a child but remained patient and cheerful, according to him Naruto is unique because of this nature.

Finally, now there are also many anime or manga characters who have past concepts and stories like Naruto Uzumaki.

4. Naruto's jacket is inspired by Kishimoto's clothes

It turned out that when designing the Naruto Uzumaki character, Naruto's jacket and clothes were inspired by Kishimoto's clothes when he was young.

The reason Kishimoto used his own clothing style when he was young for Naruto was because if he made a costume that was too unique and different, Naruto's character would be too flashy.

The impact is that the other characters feel like extras.

5. Where are the glasses?

When designing Naruto Uzumaki, Kishimoto made Naruto wear swimming goggles to make his character iconic or memorable.

But why change with a headband? Even though the headband doesn't have to be attached to the head like some other Naruto characters, right?

It turned out that according to Kishimoto, drawing Naruto's glasses was tiring and took a long time, so he didn't draw them anymore.

6. "Dattebayo" completes Naruto

Kishimoto wanted to make a Naruto character like the second point, namely the type of shonen main character who is to the point, mischievous, and passionate.

Of course that trait is similar to the nature of children, because of that Kishimoto wanted to make Naruto continue to look like that.

Finally Kishimoto added a unique dialect, namely "dattebayo" so that Naruto's character not only looked childish as Kishimoto wanted but also unique.

7. Hobby of Naruto

Like everyone, Naruto also has hobbies. It was revealed from the databook that Naruto's hobbies were annoying and some calming.

Naruto (at least arrived at Shippuden) has a hobby of nosy and pranking other people. Maybe carried over since he was little and became a habit.

Well it turns out that Naruto has another hobby, which is like watering plants, it's very different, huh.

8. Turns out I hate vegetables

If Naruto's favorite food is clearly Ramen, but what about the food he hates?

Naruto hates vegetables, especially whole or processed vegetables whose main ingredients are vegetables.

If you're aware, in several episodes of the anime and manga Boruto Hinata's character often cooks vegetables for Naruto to make his life healthier.

9. Rarely use hand seals

It turns out that Naruto is different from most other Ninjas in this anime and manga, which is that he rarely uses hand seals!

Most of Naruto's moves do not require hand seals.

He is shown using hand seals only when he wants to create Kage Bunshin and when he wants to use the Kuchiyose technique.

10. From the shortest to the tallest

Naruto as a child was the shortest among his friends, even with Hinata!

When small Naruto was only 145cm tall, while Hinata as a comparison was 147cm tall.

In Shippuden he quickly grew to 166cm in height. Even so, he is still short compared to Shino (175cm), Shikamaru (170cm), and Sasuke (168cm).
