Rock Lee or his own nickname, the Handsome Green Devil from Konoha, is a taijutsu expert from the Naruto force.

He sharpened his taijutsu skills because he couldn't use ninjutsu or genjutsu.

1. The name is not from rock, but from the music genre

Rock from the name Rock Lee does refer to the genre of hard rock music.

This is intentionally made by Kishimoto who initially thought the name Rock from Rock Lee refers to rock.

Just like Metal Lee, the metal meaning of his name also really comes from the metal music genre, not metal elements.

2. Obviously the reference is Bruce Lee

Kishimoto has definitely made Bruce Lee a reference for Rock Lee's character.

Not only the similarity of names, but also Rock Lee's appearance based on Bruce Lee, including his fighting style.

In addition, the injury suffered by Rock Lee in the fight against Gaara is also the same as the injury suffered by Bruce Lee, where both were said to be unable to walk again.

3. Can't ninjutsu doesn't mean can't use chakra

Many misconceptions about Rock Lee and chakra.

If he can't ninjutsu, why can he walk on water?

Rock Lee just can't channel his chakra to be processed into jutsu, it's not that he can't use chakra.

Because of this he can still stand on water or on an inclined surface by channeling chakra into his feet.

4. His hobby is exercise

Initially training was a must for Rock Lee because he was not talented, so he had to train hard.

5. I like Sakura because I don't want to lose competition

Just like Naruto, Rock Lee also liked Sakura as a child.

Although Sakura is indeed described as a beautiful little girl who certainly makes Rock Lee fall in love, another reason is because Rock Lee does not want to lose competition from Naruto.

Rock Lee's preference for Sakura itself is only often shown in anime, which is mostly used as a comedy element, while in the manga this is rarely shown.

6. Confirmed that you can open the Eighth Gate

The Eighth Gate is the Gate of Death which is the last part of Hachimon's formation.

At the end of Naruto Shippuden, Rock Lee said that he could only get to the sixth gate, not even touching the seventh gate.

But as an adult he was confirmed to have been able to open up to the eighth gate, which he certainly didn't exemplify because it was dangerous.

This was confirmed in the anime Boruto episode 70.

7. The Lee Clan really exists

The names behind Rock Lee and Metal Lee are not arbitrary names.

It was explained that the Lee clan did exist, but it was likely that they were not a powerful clan or even had outstanding skills.

Two officially confirmed are Rock Lee and Metal Lee.

Another one appeared in the Fourth Ninja World War, has the appearance of Rock Lee but with a mask, his name is known in the Naruto SD series is Pack Lee.

8. Can pass Academy without ninjutsu

Rock Lee is one of the few special children who can graduate from the Academy without following the main requirement, which is to be able to Ninjutsu.

Another possible child like this was Might Guy when he was younger.

Some of the requirements to graduate from the Academy in Naruto's class are being able to use change jutsu and also Bunshin.

It's obvious Rock Lee can't use this technique, so it's likely that his passing test was Taijutsu or something.

9. Have a child, but the partner has not been found out

Rock Lee's son is Metal Lee. This metal has the potential to be stronger than his father because he can use ninjutsu.

Imagine what would happen if Rock Lee's martial arts techniques were combined with ninjutsu as well.

Uniquely, until now the mother of Metal has not been caught.
