Who here doesn't know Luffy? Even if you've never watched or read the One Piece series, at least you've seen this character, heard his name, or seen the Straw Hat logo.

What are some interesting facts about Luffy?

1. Basic information

Luffy is the son of Monkey D. Dragon and grandson of Monkey D. Garp. His mother is unknown.

Inspired by Shanks, Luffy then tries to explore the ocean.

He is also the eater of the Paramecia Devil Fruit, the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which turns him into a contortionist.

2. People of normal height in a world full of tall creatures

He was 172 cm tall before the time skip, and 174 cm after the time skip. If Luffy is in Indonesia, he is tall.

The problem is, in the world of One Piece it's different. Even many humans who are not giants but still very tall. For comparison, Boa Hancock has a height of 191 cm.

After battling Magellan and he survived, Luffy got a very big advantage. Being hit by a lot of poison, it turns out that Luffy's antibodies increase, and instead he becomes poison resistant!

4. The name was given because it fits, but it turns out to have meaning

Usually a creator creates the name of their main character because it has meaning or meaning, but it's a bit different with Luffy.

6. Don't like bathing

7. Sleep less than eight hours

Luffy is not a lazy person, because of that he actually doesn't sleep too much. Oda again revealed in the SBS column, Luffy apparently only sleeps 5 hours a day.

Even so, the time zone in One Piece is still not known for sure, so either 5 hours is fairly fast or a little like in our world.

There are moments in the manga where Luffy falls asleep long, sometimes for days. But that was usually because he was injured in battle.

8. Luffy's priority in life

The Boundman is a stable form. Tankman is by far the only form of emergency that can be created only because Luffy happens to have eaten a lot before transforming. Meanwhile Snakeman is a form that allows Luffy to attack from various directions quickly, but his defense is weaker than Boundman.

11. Called Morgans the Fifth Yonko

Morgans wrote that Luffy deserves to be called the Fifth Yonko.

Even so, Luffy's position has not been recognized by parties such as the Navy and other Yonko. Big Mom and Kaido even seem to be looking down on him.

Luffy is on the short list of One Piece characters who can use three types of Haki.
