The film also brings audiences back to Hogwarts with several sets that are the remake of the Harry Potter films. Behind the reunion of the Harry Potter players, it turns out that many facets are not known to fans and were revealed directly in Harry Potter's 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts.

1. Chris Columbus as the director of Harry Potter was skeptical when he read books by JK Rowling for the first time

Chris Columbus, who directed the first two Harry Potter films, was skeptical when his daughter, Eleanor, introduced him to the series. After three rejections, he finally read Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, which was released in 1994.

When reading the adventures of Harry Potter, Chris Columbus immediately imagined the films. Chris finally met JK Rowling and they were finally on the same vision to turn the book into a feature film.

2. The candles floating in the great hall of Hogwarts are not CGI, you know!

Harry Potter often uses CGI in many scenes to make the film look more real and alive. However, did you know that the candles floating in the great hall of Hogwarts are real without any CGI touches?

Yep, this was confirmed directly by the Harry Potter players. The designer of the set used candles with lit fires in the hall that houses the dining and gathering of Hogwarts students and teachers.

Even Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the film, admitted that it was one of his favorite moments while on set. Wow, all this time, many people thought it was a CGI effect, right?

3. Alan Rickman knows Snape's character background before anyone else

While discussing Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Gary Oldman hoped that he would know the whole story when filming later. Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe himself admitted that he did not know the story, he said that the late Alan Rickman knew better.

Daniel revealed that Alan Rickman went to writer JK Rowling for information about the Harry Potter stories. Alan told Jo he needed to know what was going on.

What Alan Rickman did turn out to be helping him portray the character in a certain way throughout the film. Alan Rickman's acting as Severus Snape managed to amaze the audience.

4. Emma Watson fell in love with Tom Felton during filming

Emma Watson and Tom Felton have always been open about their friendship. This time the two revealed more about their closeness in the reunion film. One of them is when Emma fell in love with Tom.

Emma revealed that she liked Tom when the two were in tutoring sessions. They were both given the task of drawing a picture of what God would look like to them. Then, Tom also drew a girl with an upside-down hat on a skateboard, that's when Emma fell in love with him.

Even though Emma has a big crush, the three-year age difference between them makes Tom only see her as a little sister. "I was very protective of him, and I've always had a soft spot for him and that continues to this day," Tom said.

Meanwhile, although the two are quite close, Emma states that she and Tom have never been involved in a romantic relationship. He also added that they still love each other as friends.

5. Daniel Radcliffe had a crush on Helena Bonham Carter

Emma Watson is not the only person who has a crush on her co-star in the Harry Potter films. In the meeting between Daniel and Helena, the two discussed notes containing sweet words that Daniel gave to Helena during the shooting process.

Daniel wrote how happy he was to work with Helena. He then ended the note by saying, “I love you and I wish I was born 10 years earlier. I might (have) that opportunity.”

6. Daniel Radcliffe was lined up directly by Chris Columbus to play the Harry Potter character

10 Facts Revealed at Harry Potter Reunion: Return to Hogwarts Harry Potter and the Sorting Hat (doc. Warner Bros. Pictures/Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)

During the casting process, Chris Columbus faced difficulties in finding a suitable young actor to play the Harry Potter character. He then saw Daniel who starred in the BBC mini-series, David Copperfield (1999).

"In an instant, a lightbulb popped into my head," Chris said. "I said, this is Harry Potter. This is the kid we've been looking for for months."

Meanwhile, Daniel's parents initially disagreed when their son was offered the role of Harry Potter. Filming done in Los Angeles is the cause. They feared this could be a major nuisance to Daniel's life.

Producer David Heyman finally tried to convince Radcliffe's father to let his son audition. Finally, Daniel Radcliffe was successfully lined up to be the main character in the Harry Potter films.

7. Emma Watson is almost out of the fifth Harry Potter film

Emma revealed that she was almost out of the film that made her name when filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) was about to begin. This is because he experienced stress during the filming process.

While Daniel and Rupert had each other to lean on, Tom had close friends during filming, but Emma didn't. Tom reveals that Emma is always alone.

8. Daniel Radcliffe was fascinated by Gary Oldman upon meeting for the first time

While discussing all the famous actors who have appeared in Harry Potter films over the years, Daniel revealed that Gary Oldman was one of the actors he admired when they first came to the set.

“I remember you told me about your chat with Gary,” Emma chimed in when Daniel brought it up, “You were like 'Listen, Emma, you have to be cool. This is Gary Oldman, this is something great,'" Emma said, imitating Daniel's voice.

9. Jason Isaacs originally auditioned for the character Gilderoy Lockhart

Jason Isaacs, who is known for his role as Lucius Malfoy, doesn't want to play Draco's father character, you know. Even then, he auditioned Harry Potter to become Gilderoy Lockhart.

The reason for not taking on the role of Lucius Malfoy was because at that time he was already playing a villain in other children's films, namely Peter Pan (2003), at the same time. Jason didn't want to take on two of the same types of roles at the same time.

One thing that made Jason finally take on the role of Lucius was the belief from his family and closest friends that Jason was involved in the Harry Potter films. Jason's decision is considered quite right because his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films is very iconic.

10. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were nervous about their kiss scene

Ron and Hermione's kiss scene in the final Harry Potter film is an important scene for fans, as it is for Emma and Rupert. David Yates, the director, also joked that he prepared this scene like preparing for a major sporting event.

Not only that, but the crew also really wanted to be on the set to see the kiss scene. Daniel Radcliffe also constantly teases them by saying, "I'll come to the set and see you guys kissing."

For Emma, kissing Rupert was one of the hardest things she had ever done. He felt that what he did was wrong because he considered Dan and Rupert like siblings.
