After the Going Merry was badly damaged, the Straw Hat crew got help from Franky and several shipbuilders to build the Thousand Sunny in Water 7.

This ship made by Franky and several shipbuilders from Galley-la, besides having cool features, also has unique facts!

The Lion Head Statue Has Facial Expressions

As seen in the manga and anime, a lion's head statue can give off several expressions. The Lion Statue put on a dizzy expression in the manga when the Thousand Sunny was caught in the White Storm, and a panicked expression in the anime when they were surrounded by sea creatures while diving towards the fish-man island. In addition, when the ship caught fire when Luffy forgot to turn off the stove the lion statue was sweating.

Almost Given a Ridiculous Name By Luffy

When it was new, the Thousand Sunny almost had a strange name. Some crew members suggested giving the ship a name, but some of Luffy's suggestions sounded ridiculous, such as Bear!! Polar Bears!! Lions, Tigers!! Wolf!! Lion and Squid!! Octopus!! Chimpanzees.

If using the name suggested by Luffy their ship name would be very ridiculous wouldn't it. The name Thousand Sunny itself was finally suggested by Iceberg, to symbolize a ship that will sail a thousand seas happily like the sun.

Fridge Password Only Known by Sanji, Nami, and Robin

Inside the ship's galley, there is a large refrigerator for storing food, but Sanji asks the refrigerator to be locked using a password. Why does the refrigerator have a password? Of course to prevent the food in the refrigerator from being stolen by Luffy.

The refrigerator password combination is only known by Sanji, Nami, and Robin. The combination of the refrigerator is "7326", the code is a combination of the three names in Japanese. The number seven comes from Nami (nana), the number three comes from Sanji (san), the number 26 comes from Nico Robin (ni - Roku).

There is a Thousand Sunny Ship in the Real World!

It turns out that in Japan there is a Thousand Sunny ship! Located at the Huis Ten Bosch amusement park in Nagasaki, visitors can experience the adventure of being a One Piece pirate. On certain occasions, the amusement park also provides sailing services with this ship! In addition to sailing, on this ship, there are also various life-size models of straw hat members and various One-Piece gift shops.
