Senku Ishigami is the main character in the Dr. Stones series. The manga just started in early 2017 and the anime just premiered in 2019. Until now, there have been 2 seasons of anime. Season 3 of the series is scheduled to be released in 2023.
During the series, Senku showed off his intelligence to advance the world that entered the stone age after being petrified. Senku wants to return the world to the way it was 3,715 years before. With his intelligence, he helped the people of that era to discover many things.
Senku is an interesting character. He is one of the smartest characters in the anime world. The design is also unique with white spiky hair and green ends. This hair can be limp too if exposed to water.

10. His biological parents are still a mystery
Since childhood, Senku lived with his father, Byakuya. The audience also recognizes Byakuya, a lecturer who wants to fly to space, as Senku's father. Senku calls Byakuya as father or old man. However, as time goes by, it is discovered that Byakuya is not Senku's real father.
Byakuya adopted Senku when he was a child. Senku's biological parents are close friends of Byakuya. Not much is known about Senku's biological parents. However, Senku finds out that he was adopted. Even so, Senku still respects and loves Byakuya.
9. Died once
In the first days, Senku and Taiju could not depend on each other but each other. When they are pressed, they are forced to wake up a new person, namely Tsukasa Shishio, their friend who is a strong martial artist. As it turns out, Tsukasa is a person who hates the previous world and ends up having problems with Senku who wants to restore it.
After realizing that Senku will not give up on advancing the world, Tsukasa kills Senku with a swift blow from his stone staff. Senku died. Fortunately, a part of his neck was still petrified. The Antipetrification liquid finally healed the bone and revived Senku.
8. Stay conscious while petrified
Several characters have been awakened from the stone form. Most of them didn't know what was going on. They were sleeping, but Senku was different.
For nearly 4,000 years, Senku managed to stay conscious. Whether it's impossible or not, Senku counts every second he passes every day. He still knew how long he had been petrified so that he knew when he woke up, he would know what had changed around him.
7. Have unlimited knowledge of science
This is obvious. But, if you dig deeper, you can see how ridiculous Senku is. Most people are usually experts in one or two specific areas. However, Senku seems to be an expert on “science” as a whole. The series' writer, Riichiro Inagaki, wants to make things even more fantastic. However, Senku is not just a walking book, he is a walking computer.
Spending his life on science made him realize everything. From the cutting-edge technology of his era to the workings of the stone age, iron age, and even the technology of the steam revolution, he knew it all. In chemistry, mathematics, engineering, and geology, Senku has demonstrated his mastery in these and other fields.
6. His name means Stone God
In the fictional world, the name of the main character often has a meaning that leads to the concept of the story. Senku Ishigami is no exception either. His last name, Ishigami, is written in kanji. The name means Stone (Ishi) and God (Kami).
The name fits this character. In a world where all of society is petrified and no one seems to have any scientific skills, he is the only one with any hope of rebuilding society rather than waiting millions of years. His findings also proved useful.
5. Widower
To become the head of Ishigami village, one must marry Ruri. The man who could marry Ruri was the winner of the fighting tournament in the village. Senku originally had no intention of winning. He just wanted Chrome to win and marry Ruri, whom he did like.
However, everything did not go according to plan. Chrome lost in the semi-finals. In the final, Senku won that fight. He also has the right to marry Ruri. Having no intention of getting married—instead of seeing the opportunity to become village head, Senku marries Ruri and then immediately divorces her.
4. Finding a petrified healer
Senku was lucky when he recovered from petrification. But, he was also intelligent enough to have a theory about what might happen. While it took months, Senku managed to replicate the process and restore Taiju.
After that, the two continued to experiment until Senku finally figured out the right mix needed to reawaken humans. With this information, he should be able to bring back everyone in Japan if he wanted to. But, most of the time, he's busy dealing with problems left by humans and driving off Tsukasa's men.
3. Varnish allergy
Every hero has weaknesses. Superman on kryptonite, Edward Elric on height jokes, and Senku on varnish. It sounds funny, but it's true. Senku couldn't get close to the material used to protect things from wood.
This allergy was discovered in one of the episodes when they were trying to create a magnet. Senku had to get close to the varnish. As a result, his face became swollen. Even though they use it to make jokes about Anpanman, Senku says that the main problem is that he's allergic.
2. Want to go to space
Since childhood, Senku dreamed of going to space. He even created a prototype rocket which then exploded at high altitudes. However, he still managed to fire his puppet versions, Taiju and Yuzuriha, into space. He also continued to try to rebuild the rocket.
The departure of his father, Byakuya, to space only adds to his desire to be able to go to space. After the petrification event, Senku did not abandon that dream. He was constantly trying to be able to go to space.
1. Completely insensitive to women
So far, surprisingly, Senku is polite when interacting with other people. Usually, intelligent characters have a habit of putting down other people. But, Senku never underestimated people. It only made it more dangerous.
Honey, Senku really can't deal with women. When Kohaku says that he likes her, Senku gets worried that Kohaku has feelings for her. He was relieved when Kohaku didn't have any feelings for him. To him, romance tends to complicate things and doesn't make much sense.
