The Aichi E16A was a Japanese Navy floatplane designed and built by Aichi for use in World War II. It was used for reconnaissance and spotting for naval artillery.

The E16A was a single-engine, two-seat aircraft with a biplane configuration. It was powered by a single Hitachi Hiryu 8-cylinder air-cooled radial engine, which provided a top speed of around 220 km/h (140 mph). The aircraft had a wingspan of 11.5 meters (37.7 feet) and a length of 8.9 meters (29.2 feet). It was equipped with floats for water-based operations, but could also be fitted with wheels for land-based operations.

The E16A saw action in a number of naval battles during World War II, including the Battle of Midway and the Solomon Islands campaign. It was also used by the Imperial Japanese Army for reconnaissance and observation duties.

After the war, the E16A was retired from military service and many were sold to civilian operators. Some examples are still in existence today and are preserved in museums or used as vintage aircraft.
