Five facts about Denji Chainsaw Man. WARNING!!! this article contains spoilers from the Chainsaw Man manga.

1. Denji was born in 1980

At the start of the series, Denji claims to be around 16 years old. Let's say it's true, Denji means 16 years old at the beginning of the series. Until chapter 81, Denji celebrates his birthday which indicates that he is now 17 years old.

Meanwhile, when the Weapon Demon appears, there is a scene indicating that the series takes place in 1997. This means that Denji was born in 1980.

2. Denji never went to school

Denji is arguably one of the shounen protagonists with the most tragic background ever. Ever since he was born, Denji's life has always been dogged by misery. Denji's parents both died and his father owed a huge debt to the Yakuza.

Because Denji is the only family left, Denji must take responsibility for his father's debt. Denji never has time to go to school because he has to work as a private demon hunter to pay off his father's debt. Because of this, Denji always had difficulty in reading and arithmetic.

3. Denji has a contract with a Blood Demon

After Makima revealed his grand plan and true identity, Power decided to give his life to protect Denji. When he was on the verge of death, Power made a contract with Denji to give him strength.

This means that Denji not only has a contract with the Saw Demon, but also the Blood Demon. Not only does it give him more energy, the contract with the Blood Demon also allows Denji to use a saw made of blood.

4. Denji is Tatsuki Fujimoto's favorite character

Despite serving as the main protagonist in the Chainsaw Man series, Denji does not rank first as a favorite character. In the first poll, Denji was in fifth place as the most favorite character and in fourth place in the second poll.

Although not the character most liked by fans, he is the most liked character by his own creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto. In a tweet circulating on Twitter, it was revealed that Fujimoto's favorite character is Denji.

5. Denji once appeared as a cameo in My Hero Academia

Mangaka does compete to make their work the most popular. Even so, as fellow mangaka, they still respect each other. Occasionally, they will incorporate characters from other manga into their series.

My Hero Academia is one of them. In chapter 259, there is a scene showing Fat Gum walking with a group of heroes. In the crowd of heroes, there is the appearance of Denji in his Saw Demon form.
