Honda's legendary roadster, S2000, is rumored to be coming back from the grave after being put to death in 2009. Precisely after the special edition rolled out to commemorate Honda's 50th anniversary. Launching from Motor1, one of Honda's trusted sources revealed to Forbes, that the S2000 is currently being considered again for production.

From the information circulating, the marketing team is currently investigating the possibility of launching the S2000 in 2024. Interestingly, rumors are circulating that the roadster will be reborn with a Civic Type R engine. Even Honda insider information also states that it will produce the S2000 with the same body proportions as the older model.

The body material will be designed to use aluminum and carbon. It aims to reduce its weight to under 1,361 kilograms.

Although it is alleged that it will use the Type R's 2,000 ccs turbocharged engine, Honda will still carry out large-scale engineering so that the engine's performance can be perfect and configure the rear-wheel drive.

Although it is a breath of fresh air for Honda sports car fanatics, unfortunately until this news is published there has been no official explanation from Honda officials.

Even earlier, Hayato Mori, Honda's senior planning manager in Canada, had said that based on research results it was impossible to produce the S2000 again because it was difficult to make money.
